Amazon Uber Eats Deal Gives Prime Free Delivery Over $25

Amazon Uber Eats lets every U.S. Prime member order from hundreds of thousands of restaurants with $0 delivery on $25 orders. Is it a better deal than Grubhub+?

Amazon Uber Eats ordering went live on November 5, 2026, giving every U.S. Prime member $0 delivery fees on restaurant orders of $25 or more placed through Amazon.com or the Amazon Shopping app. Uber Eats now replaces Grubhub as the official restaurant delivery partner for Prime, and no separate Uber account or app is required.

In practice, that means a Prime member can browse nearby restaurants, pay with a card already saved on Amazon, and track the order through Amazon notifications. Amazon and Uber said in a joint announcement that the perk covers hundreds of thousands of restaurants in nearly 10,000 cities and towns, from big metros such as Boston and Los Angeles to rural places like Boardman, Oregon.

How Does Amazon Uber Eats Work for Prime Members?

Members can open amazon.com/ubereats or search "Uber Eats" in the Amazon Shopping app, sign in with their Amazon credentials and order. The benefit also applies to the half-price Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access plans. Uber Eats sends a final order confirmation, while Amazon handles the status emails and push alerts.

The delivery fee waiver is the headline, but it is not a free meal: service fees still apply, Amazon confirmed to GeekWire. The menu selection is meant to mirror what the regular Uber Eats app shows, including chains such as Chipotle, Wingstop and Sweetgreen.

What Launch Deals Are Available?

  • $20 off each of the first two Uber Eats orders of $25 or more during the first 14 days.
  • 5% back on all Uber Eats orders for Prime Visa cardholders through December 5, 2026.
  • Prime-only offers that Amazon estimates could save a typical user more than $175 a year, above the $139 cost of an annual Prime plan.

What Happens to Grubhub+ and Uber One?

Amazon's commercial agreement with Grubhub ended the same day, according to TechCrunch, so Prime members can no longer order Grubhub through Amazon. Anyone who already activated Grubhub+ can keep using it through December 31, 2027. Uber One subscribers keep their own $0 delivery perks, but the two memberships run separately and the Prime discount only applies to Uber Eats orders placed on Amazon.

The deal also deepens a wider Amazon and Uber relationship that already covers cloud computing, Zoox robotaxis and Uber Eats inside the Alexa+ assistant. Food delivery rivals are consolidating too, as the recent DoorDash and Instacart deal showed.

Is the Switch Good News for Prime Members?

For most U.S. members, yes. Uber Eats has one of the biggest restaurant networks in the country, and ordering without another app or login removes real friction. The catch is that service fees and menu markups still decide the final bill, so the $175 savings figure depends on how often a household orders takeout.

For Amazon, the move is another way to justify the Prime fee as it pushes groceries and same-day delivery harder. It also shows how much of Amazon's growth still comes from layering services on top of retail, a pattern visible in its quarterly results.
