Monster Hunter Stories is finally available for Xbox players. After a long wait, the first two games in Capcom’s beloved spin-off series have officially released on Microsoft consoles.

Monster Hunter Stories Xbox Release Date and Prices

Capcom’s popular Role-Playing Game series is entering a new era, years after its console debut with Monster Hunter Frontier Z in 2010. The first two Monster Hunter Stories games were released for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on November 14, 2025. This release represents a significant milestone for fans of the series.

The first game in the series, Monster Hunter Stories, arrived on Xbox shortly after the ninth anniversary of its 3DS launch in Japan. The first game has an average score of 79 on OpenCritic and “Very Positive” user reviews on Steam. This first installment in the action-adventure series puts players in the role of Monster Riders, who, instead of hunters, raise monsters and form lifelong bonds with them. The sequel, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, was released on Xbox on the same day, November 14, 2025. This game expands the adventure by offering an improved combat system and a deeper story. The arrival of these games on Xbox creates a great opportunity for players to experience the series, especially before the third installment, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, launches on March 13, 2026.
