Meta Verified is now live on Instagram and Facebook

Earlier this year, Meta announced its plans to launch a new paid subscription service. After successful tests in Australia and New Zealand, the company has now introduced Meta Verified in the US. This subscription is available on both Instagram and Facebook.

What is Meta Verified?

This new paid subscription offers users account verification with a government ID, proactive account protection, direct customer support, and more. Subscribers will receive a blue checkmark on their Facebook and Instagram profiles. Meta Verified is not the first social media platform to offer paid subscriptions, as Twitter has a similar service.

Pricing and Availability:

Meta Verified is currently available in the US, Australia, and New Zealand. The subscription costs $11.99 per month when signing up on the web (Facebook only) and $14.99 per month when subscribing through the iOS or Android app.

How to subscribe to Meta’s paid subscription?

  • Select a profile
    • Go to ‘Settings’ on Instagram or Facebook. Click ‘Accounts Center’, then ‘Meta Verified’. If it’s available for your account, you will see ‘Meta Verified available’ under your name and profile photo.
  • Set up payment
    • Select your preferred payment method for your monthly payment.
  • Confirm profile and provide ID
    • Complete the verification process and provide a government-issued photo ID to confirm your identity before being approved for a Verified subscription.
