Popular game’s source code stolen!

With the rapid advancement of technology in recent years, new cyber attack methods are being developed. These developments can cause significant damage to large companies. Most recently, it has emerged that the developer of the popular tactical first-person shooter game Ready or Not has experienced a data breach. So, what information has been leaked? Here are the details…

Ready or Not source codes compromised

Ready or Not, which exited early access in December 2023, allows players to become a member of the SWAT team in scenarios such as hostage rescue or terrorist hunting. The game, known for its realistic weapon mechanics and challenging gameplay, has experienced a rather unfavorable development.

Ready or Not source codes-1

According to reports, a ransomware group consisting of hackers conducted a cyber attack against VOID Interactive, the developer of Ready or Not. This group, whose name is kept confidential by the source of the news, claimed to have obtained data totaling 4 TB and consisting of a total of 2.1 million files.

This game became Steam’s bestseller before it even came out!

Among the compromised data, it was reported that the source codes of the Ready or Not game were included, with no information stolen regarding players or company employees. While it is unknown how much the ransomware group demanded from the company, VOID Interactive has yet to make a statement. The potential consequences of the compromise of the game’s source codes remain uncertain.
