AMD Outsells Nvidia in GPU Unit Sales on Amazon US for First Time
AMD outsells Nvidia in GPU unit sales on Amazon US for the first time, as GeForce prices climb and the RX 9070 XT undercuts the RTX 5070 Ti by about $780.

AMD outsells Nvidia in graphics card unit sales on Amazon US for the first time, according to sales tracker TechEpiphany, which flagged the shift on November 3, 2026. The tracker said total GPU units sold on the store fell while revenue “soared,” a sign that buyers are paying far more per card.
TechEpiphany compiles monthly CPU and GPU sales estimates from Amazon US listings. It did not publish exact Radeon and GeForce unit counts in its post, and the data covers one retailer, not the whole graphics card market.
Sign of the times:
– For the first time, AMD overtook Nvidia in GPU unit sales on Amazon US.
– Total units sold declined, while revenue soared…

Why AMD Outsells Nvidia on Amazon Right Now
The main driver is price. Nvidia is reportedly cutting back on consumer gaming card production to put more supply toward AI accelerators, and earlier reports said the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 could be discontinued. Shrinking supply has pushed GeForce shelf prices well above launch levels, as our look at the RTX 5090 price in the US showed.
As Notebookcheck reported, the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti launched in April 2025 at $429 and now sells for more than $700 on Amazon. The RTX 5060, RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti show similar markups.
Radeon RX 9070 XT vs RTX 5070 Ti Prices
Radeon cards have also become more expensive, but by less. The Radeon RX 9070 XT, AMD’s direct rival to the RTX 5070 Ti, can be found for about $920 on Amazon US, while most RTX 5070 Ti models are listed above $1,700. That gap of roughly $780 matters most to people building their own gaming PCs.
- RTX 5060 Ti 16GB: $429 at launch, now above $700
- RTX 5070 Ti: most models above $1,700
- Radeon RX 9070 XT: about $920
The trend has been building for months. In September, TechSpot noted that Amazon’s top 10 best-selling GPU list was split evenly between AMD and Nvidia, with an RX 9070 XT model in first place.
AMD Also Leads CPU Sales
The same tracker’s October report for Amazon US put AMD at 28,200 of 34,700 desktop processors sold, or 81.27% of units, with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D on top at 5,000 units. Older AM4 chips made up 37.75% of sales, which TechEpiphany linked to the high cost of new RAM. Our explainer on why RAM is so expensive covers that side of the squeeze.
What It Means for PC Builders
For buyers, Radeon cards currently offer far more performance per dollar at retail. For Nvidia, gaming is now a small part of a business driven by data center chips, while AMD just posted record quarterly results led by its own data center sales. Whether Nvidia raises GeForce supply again is not yet clear, so prices could stay high through the holiday season.
