EA Classic Games Steam Drop Revives 25 Restored Classics

Electronic Arts put 25 classic games on Steam on Nov. 5, 2026, and the same vault lineup is also live on GOG and the EA App. In an EA News post that day, the company said seven releases are Anniversary Editions with quality-of-life upgrades and higher-resolution Full-Motion Video (FMV) restored from master tapes, while the other 18 are faithful ports for modern PCs.

Which EA Classic Games Steam Titles Are Restored?

The Anniversary slate is led by Road Rash: 30th Anniversary Edition plus six Wing Commander-era builds: Wing Commander and Wing Commander II (35th Anniversary), Wing Commander III, Wing Commander IV, Wing Commander Prophecy, and Privateer 2: The Darkening (all 30th Anniversary Editions).

On the Steam store page for Road Rash, the Anniversary Edition listed at $9.99 and showed $4.99 during a 50% discount when we checked; Wing Commander: 35th Anniversary Edition used the same $9.99/$4.99 tags. EA says special pricing on Steam and GOG runs from Nov. 5 to Nov. 19, 2026.

How Did EA Recover These Classic Games?

EA says the project started in March 2022 after Senior Producer Jim Vessella found a physical media vault at Redwood Shores with almost 20,000 archival assets, including master tapes for Wing Commander and Road Rash. Community help, especially around Wing Commander, fed into the Anniversary builds, according to the same Nov. 5 announcement.

What Else Is in the 25-Game Lineup?

The 18 faithful ports keep the original look and systems while targeting current hardware. That group includes Wing Commander: Privateer, Academy and Armada, Strike Commander, Theme Hospital, Crusader: No Remorse and No Regret, Ultima I through Ultima IX, plus both Ultima Underworld games. It fits a busy November PC calendar covered in our November 2026 game releases roundup.

Our Take

This is preservation with a storefront attached: Anniversary Editions give cleaner FMVs and modern tweaks, while the ports make Origin and Bullfrog-era games easy to buy again. For how Steam surfaces player feedback on re-releases, see our note on the Steam review process.

Other big PC launches still dominate the feed, including Rockstar's latest GTA 6 screenshots drop.
