iOS 27.3 public beta: redesigned Apple Health app with Insights and Longevity tabs on three iPhones

Apple released the first iOS 27.3 public beta on November 5, 2026, two days after developers got it, so anyone with a compatible iPhone can now try the redesigned Health app for free. Public betas of iPadOS 27.3, macOS Golden Gate 27.3, tvOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3 arrived the same day, and the final releases are expected in December.

The public build matches the first iOS 27.3 developer beta from November 3. A public beta is unfinished test software that Apple opens to regular users, so bugs and weaker battery life are possible, and installing it on your main phone carries some risk.

What Is New in the iOS 27.3 Public Beta?

The headline is the new Health app, which briefly appeared in iOS 27.2 testing but did not ship in the final release. It runs only on iPhones and iPads that support Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device AI system. Apple also expanded its languages to global English, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese.

A new Insights tab summarizes heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking data during the day. Its For You section offers suggestions based on your habits; for example, it may recommend a new wind-down routine after several nights of broken sleep.

The Longevity tab adds Health Age, which turns Apple Watch data such as VO2 max (a measure of how well your body uses oxygen), resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability into one figure compared with your real age. You can also add lab results such as A1c and LDL cholesterol. Health Age requires an Apple Watch, according to 9to5Mac's summary of Apple's announcement.

At-home movement checks use the iPhone camera and Apple Watch to measure flexibility, strength, balance and VO2 max. Apple says the analysis runs entirely on the device and no video is recorded, stored or shared.

What Else Changes in iOS 27.3?

  • Safari gets Vertical Tabs and an Adaptive Dark Mode that darkens sites without their own dark theme.
  • Siri AI can build and save a playlist, schedule an iMessage or create a Journal entry, and developers can add their own Siri actions.
  • iPhone Duo gains Reachability, which slides content toward one side of the unfolded screen.
  • StandBy brings more customizable clock faces to other iPhones, and Fitness+ adds a four-week Gym Strength plan.
  • The release also includes Apple's new checks on public iCloud links.

How Do You Install the iOS 27.3 Public Beta?

Back up your iPhone first. Then sign up for the free Apple Beta Software Program with the same Apple Account you use on the phone. Go to Settings, General, Software Update, Beta Updates and choose iOS 27 Public Beta. Return to Software Update and tap Update Now when iOS 27.3 appears.

Our Take

iOS 27.3 is the biggest iOS 27 update so far, and the Health redesign is the main reason to try it early. Still, if you rely on your iPhone for work or banking, the safer choice is to wait about a month for the stable release. Note that Health Age needs an Apple Watch, so iPhone-only users will see a smaller upgrade.
