RedMagic 12 Pro Goes Global at $949 With 8,400mAh and 185Hz

The RedMagic 12 Pro is now official outside China, starting at $949 in the US for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. RedMagic announced the global launch on November 3, with open sales beginning November 18. The phone keeps the 8,400mAh battery and RGB liquid cooling of the Chinese RedMagic 12 Pro+, but charges at 80W instead of 120W.

The global model arrives about three weeks after the Chinese launch, when the RedMagic 12 Pro debuted with a 185Hz screen and liquid cooling in mid-October.

RedMagic 12 Pro price and availability

In North America, the 12GB/256GB model costs $949, the 16GB/512GB version costs $1,049 and the 16GB/1TB model costs $1,199. European prices are 899, 999 and 1,199 euros, while UK buyers pay £799, £889 and £1,059, according to the pricing table published by GSMArena.

That is a clear jump from last year. The RedMagic 11 Pro started at 699 euros, so the entry price is up 200 euros and the 24GB RAM option is gone. The increase lands as phone makers deal with rising memory costs, a trend we explained in our look at why RAM is so expensive right now.

Early Bird vouchers go on sale November 12 to 17, and voucher holders can order on November 17 with a free 80W charger. Open sales start November 18 in North America, most of the EU, the UK, parts of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Mexico and Chile. Colors are Nightfreeze (transparent black) and Subzero (transparent silver).

What changes in the global model

Besides the slower 80W wired charging, the shoulder triggers are rated at 520Hz rather than 700Hz on the Chinese model. Wireless charging at up to 80W and bypass charging are still included.

The battery is 12% larger than the 7,500mAh cell in the RedMagic 11 Pro, yet the phone is slightly thinner at 8.5mm versus 8.9mm.

Specs: Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and a 185Hz screen

The phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 alongside RedMagic’s R5 gaming chip and its G1 display chip. Cooling comes from AquaCore Cooling System 3.0, which combines dual-loop liquid cooling, a 25,500 RPM fan and liquid metal, as listed on the official RedMagic 12 Pro page.

The 6.85-inch 1.5K OLED display refreshes at up to 185Hz, has 0.96mm bezels and reaches 1,900 nits of global peak brightness. The 16MP selfie camera sits under the display. On the back are a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide.

Other features include IP68 and IP69 ratings (the fan is rated IPX8), an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, an IR blaster, Wi-Fi 7 and RedMagic OS 12 on Android 17 with Gemini and Steam support.

What it means for buyers

RedMagic remains one of the few brands selling a gaming phone with a built-in fan worldwide. At $949, though, it now sits close to mainstream flagships, and it arrives as other Chinese brands expand abroad, including Honor with its Magic 9 series global rollout.
