Until now, it was possible to use a wireless Xbox controller over Bluetooth while gaming on Apple devices. However, the wireless connection was sometimes laggy and unstable. With Apple’s new wired controller support, gamers will now be able to play smoother games with lower latency. Wired controller support is a huge advantage, especially in games with high sensitivity.

Trying to attract gamers with platforms like Apple Arcade, Apple wants users to have a console-level experience even on mobile devices with wired controller support. Now, gamers can easily connect their Xbox controllers to their iPhone, iPad and Mac devices for a much more professional control.
