Samsung is launching its new Pro SSD model

The new 8TB model offers remarkable features compared to other members of the series. Read speeds reach up to 14,800 MB/s, while random read performance reaches 2200K IOPS. The device uses V-NAND TLC flash memory units and comes with 8GB of DRAM.

The model’s write life is stated as 4800 TBW and is sold with a 5-year warranty. The device’s 11.25mm-thick heatsink provides a significant advantage in terms of efficiency. The SSD, which features a 5nm controller, supports M.2 2280 and PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe 2.0. The price tag for the 8TB version of the Samsung 9100 Pro SSD is set at $1,020.

This development offers a significant option for professional users, content creators, and gamers who need both high storage capacity and speed. Today’s tasks, such as 4K and 8K video editing, require large file sizes and fast data transfer. Therefore, an SSD with a superior performance of 8TB capacity stands out as a practical solution for these users.

With increasing competition in the market, the prices of high-capacity SSDs are gradually becoming more affordable. This move by Samsung demonstrates its efforts to maintain and even increase its market share in this segment. This new model, combining high speed and capacity, reinforces Samsung’s leadership position in storage technology.
