This pricing is more affordable than the previous Intel-based Claw A8 AI+ model. While the Intel Lunar Lake Ultra 200V version cost £899, the Z2 Extreme version is £50 less. This model is also MSI’s first portable console with an AMD APU. The device is available in two colors: Neon Green and white.

The Claw A8 features an 8-inch IPS touchscreen with a 1920×1200 resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s equipped with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD. The device also features two USB4 ports, WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 support, and a 6-axis IMU sensor.

Powering the device is the Z2 Extreme APU, which offers a total of 8 cores and 18 threads, including 3 Zen 5 and 5 Zen 5c cores. For graphics, the Radeon 880M APU features RDNA 3.5 architecture.

This APU features 16 Compute Units and an XDNA 2 neural engine with 50 TOPS. The console weighs 765 grams. Dual speakers with DTS support and Hi-Res Audio enhance sound quality. The device’s 6-cell, 80Wh battery is also noteworthy.
