AMD Zen 6 processors are coming! Here are their features

New information about AMD’s next generation processors with Zen 6 architecture continues to emerge. The processors, which are expected to be released in 2026, will be based on TSMC’s 3nm N3E manufacturing process and will offer significant changes in core configuration. According to the latest information, Zen 6 will be able to increase the total core count up to 24 with the new CCD design while maintaining compatibility with the AM5 platform.

AMD Zen 6 processors will be released soon

It is stated that the number of cores per CCD will be increased to 12 in the next generation processors. This change will mean a significant increase compared to the 8-core CCDs used in previous generations. Therefore, processors using dual CCDs will be able to reach 24 cores in total.

Zen 6 processors are rumoured to bring great innovations on the APU side. It is stated that AMD will move away from monolithic design and move to a chiplet-based structure. It was claimed that the new generation of notebook APUs, dubbed ‘Medusa Point’, will include 12-core Zen 6 CCDs and will have an I/O die of 200mm².

It is stated that AMD has adopted an efficiency-oriented design approach as well as performance increase in its new processors. The Zen 6 architecture, which will bring major changes especially in mobile and desktop platforms, can create an important turning point in the processor market. We expect the series to be officially launched, most likely in 2026.
