Google’s Tensor G5 chip coming soon! Here are the features

New details have emerged about Google’s Tensor G5 chipset. The new-generation processor, which will be used in the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro models, will be Google’s first custom chip solution that has turned to TSMC instead of Samsung. This development has created great excitement in the technology sector.

Google’s Tensor G5 chip will be available soon

Developed with TSMC’s 3nm production process, Tensor G5 was designed based on Arm Cortex CPU cores. Google will abandon Arm’s Mali GPU, which it used in its previous-generation Tensor chips, and switch to Imagination Technologies’ IMG DXT GPU. This change will provide a significant increase in graphics performance.

In addition, Google will switch to a completely custom image signal processor (ISP) design and abandon Samsung’s ISP. The Tensor G5 also comes with important innovations such as the Chips&Media WAVE677DV video encoding chip, custom memory controller, system-level cache, and advanced power modules.

Google is using third-party solutions for components such as USB, PCIe, and I3C in its new chip. There will also be changes to the display, memory, and storage interfaces. Although not officially confirmed yet, the Tensor G5 will be a critical step towards becoming the company’s first custom SoC (system-on-chip) designed entirely by itself.

So what do you think about this? Do you think Google’s new chip investments will be successful? Which processor is used in your mobile phone? You can easily share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
