Samsung One UI 7 can increase battery consumption! Why?

The One UI 7 update offered by Samsung to the Galaxy S23, S24 Ultra and Z Fold 6 models increased the battery consumption of some users. Stating that they had to charge their devices several times in daily use, users stated that the battery performance dropped below normal after the update.

Does One UI 7 increase battery consumption?

However, this situation is not valid for all users. Some users reported that battery life improved in the opposite way. According to experts, this situation is not due to a systemic failure. After the One UI 7 update, the device’s power management system resets previously collected energy consumption data.

This requires the device to re-analyse the user’s habits and rebuild energy saving algorithms. The system’s relearning process causes a temporary increase in energy consumption.

In the statement made by Samsung, it is stated that this is normal. Similar to the battery consumption after a new phone installation, it was stated that the increase in battery usage after the One UI 7 update will return to normal within a few days.

It was also emphasised that users do not need to make any intervention in this process. The One UI 7 update, which was previously paused due to some bugs, is currently available again for all users.
