Shocking decision for the iPhone 17 Pro camera

A beloved camera feature, which has been around since the iPhone 12 Pro and performs wonders in low light, is missing from the new series. This has been a major disappointment, especially for photography enthusiasts who had high expectations for the iPhone 17 Pro’s Night Mode.

iPhone 17 Pro Night Mode Portraits Are History

Apple has quietly removed the ability to take “Night Mode Portraits” from the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. This feature first debuted with the iPhone 12 Pro, released in 2020. This feature allowed users to combine Night Mode and Portrait Mode to take bright, clear photos with blurred backgrounds, even in low ambient light.

However, this option is no longer available on the company’s newest and most powerful flagship models. Apple has yet to provide users with an official explanation or technical justification for the removal of this feature. For years, this feature, one of the most distinctive camera features of the “Pro” models, has sparked controversy in tech circles.

While Apple is generally known for improving its camera capabilities with each new model, the removal of an existing and actively used feature is unusual. Whether this change is a software bug, a hardware limitation, or a deliberate choice remains unclear. This omission, which directly impacts the photography experience, could draw criticism from users who enjoy night photography.
