They’ve made a mini PlayStation 5!

The PlayStation 5 has been criticized for its massive size since its launch. However, YouTube channel Not From Concentrate has developed a remarkable solution to this problem. The channel has created a mini PlayStation 5 model, featuring a much more compact chassis than the original, and shared the construction steps with viewers. This special console is notable for both its size and its efficient cooling system.

The Mini PlayStation 5 Surprises with Its Cooling Performance

YouTubers have combined the original PS5 hardware into a specially designed, smaller case. The console’s most significant achievement is its solution to overheating. The device uses an Alpenföhn Black Ridge cooler powered by two slim 120mm Noctua fans. Additionally, three 60mm Noctua fans are used to exhaust hot air from the interior. This active cooling system maintains the console’s performance.

Tests have demonstrated the effectiveness of this special mini PS5. Tests conducted in the game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 indicate that this compact model runs approximately 3 degrees Celsius cooler than the original PS5. This means a smaller chassis offers better thermal performance. This is a feat that can only be achieved with proper engineering and high-quality components.

This project also references Sony’s upcoming official “Slim” model. Considering the weight and footprint of the original console, it’s clear that users are expecting a smaller PS5. The YouTube video shows all the construction steps in detail. This successful modification once again demonstrates the creativity users can have in modifying the console’s hardware.
