World of Warcraft Forever is live worldwide as Blizzard's third permanent version of Azeroth, sitting beside modern retail WoW and Classic. Access is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time.

The game launches players into a reimagined original Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor after Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, with a level cap of 60 and ongoing updates planned for years.

What Does World of Warcraft Forever Add at Launch?

Blizzard says Forever expands the two original continents with new and rebuilt zones and more than 1,000 new quests from levels 1 to 60. Highlighted destinations include Mount Hyjal, Shen'dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle, the level 1-12 starting area for the new Skyborne race.

Nine new five-player dungeons cover levels 13-60, among them Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, City of Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace. Two raids, Hyjal Summit for 20 players and Barrow Deeps for 10, are scheduled to unlock on December 9, 2026, not at day-one login.

Who Are the Skyborne in WoW Forever?

The Skyborne, also called the shen'dorei or hidden people, are Forever's new playable race. At character creation you pick Horde-aligned Windshapers or Alliance-aligned High Order Skyborne. Both can be Druids, Hunters, Rogues and Warriors; Horde Skyborne can also be Shamans, Alliance Skyborne can also be Mages.

Skyborne access requires the paid Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher digital upgrade. Forever also unlocks several race-class pairings that original WoW never offered, including Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests and Dwarf Shamans.

What Systems Change in This Permanent Azeroth?

Instead of picking a traditional realm first, players choose a Ruleset such as Normal, PvP, Roleplay or Roleplay PvP. Hardcore arrives sometime after launch. Characters use a two-name structure unique within a region, and a first-login Experience Preset picks Classic or Enhanced presentation defaults that can be changed later.

The Camping system turns the Cooking Basic Campfire into a shared campsite with profession-crafted features and short buffs. The account-wide Legacy System rewards exploration and alts through Challenges, Perks and Rewards without forcing power progression alone. Gamepad support is built in for Forever.

World of Warcraft Forever is not a temporary seasonal realm. Blizzard is positioning it as an evergreen home that keeps expanding the original continents, with more raids, dungeons, PvP and world content on the roadmap after December 9.
