Xenoblade Chronicles X Voice Sync Bug Found on Switch 2

Nintendo has officially acknowledged a new bug affecting Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on the Switch 2. The game, which launched earlier this year, now appears to suffer from occasional voice sync issues when played on Nintendo’s latest console.

Although no major patches have been released since launch, players recently reported that character voices sometimes fall out of sync with their animations in specific scenes. Nintendo has confirmed this bug and mentioned that a fix will arrive in a future update.

What’s happening in Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch 2?

Voice lines may lag behind or jump ahead of character movements, which disrupts immersion during cutscenes. This issue appears to be isolated to the Switch 2 hardware, as previous versions of the game did not report the same problem.

Players on Reddit and gaming forums have flagged this problem over the past few weeks, prompting a response from Nintendo.

Other enhancements on Switch 2

While this bug is being addressed, it’s worth noting that Nintendo has released several updates aimed at improving Switch 2 performance across its game library. Notably:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3 received performance tweaks in June.
  • Hidden 60fps mode in Xenoblade Chronicles X was discovered earlier this year.
  • Various first-party titles have received minor patches since the console’s debut.

When will the fix arrive?

Nintendo hasn’t announced a timeline yet, but its acknowledgment suggests a patch is in the pipeline. In the meantime, the bug doesn’t affect gameplay directly, but story-heavy scenes may feel jarring.

As always, we’ll keep an eye on updates and let you know when the fix drops. Keep your Switch 2 updated, and stay tuned for more Xenoblade news.
