OPPO 12,000mAh Battery Phone Passes Certification in China

An OPPO 12,000mAh battery phone is on the way, the company's biggest yet, after a model numbered PNC110 passed certification in China. That is 50% more than the 8,000mAh battery in OPPO's own Find X10 Pro Max flagship, and it points to a cheaper phone that could last well beyond two days on a charge.
The device appeared in the database of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the regulator that approves phones before they can go on sale in the country. OPPO has not announced the phone, and its name, price and launch date are still unknown.
Why Is the OPPO 12,000mAh Battery Figure an Estimate?
The listing shows a rated capacity of roughly 11,500 to 11,600mAh; Notebookcheck reports 11,640mAh, while XpertPick, which first spotted the metadata, lists 11,460mAh. Rated capacity is the guaranteed minimum, and brands usually advertise the slightly higher typical figure. As a result, OPPO is expected to market the phone as a 12,000mAh device.
Besides the battery, the filing only confirms 5G and dual SIM support. The processor, screen, cameras and charging speed have not leaked.
Which OPPO Series Will Get the Huge Battery?
Reports suggest it will be an affordable A series or midrange model rather than a flagship. For example, the budget OPPO A7 Pro Max, launched in some global markets in September 2026, already ships with a 10,000mAh battery, so the new phone would be about 20% bigger.
How Big Can Phone Batteries Get?
OPPO's move is part of a battery race among Chinese brands. Honor recently launched its WIN 2 series with a 12,070mAh battery, and leaker Digital Chat Station says the company is now testing cells between 14,000 and 15,000mAh. Even gaming phones like the RedMagic 12 Pro with 8,400mAh look modest next to these numbers.
Silicon carbon cells make this possible. They replace part of the graphite in the battery's anode, the negative side, with silicon, which stores more energy without making the phone much thicker or heavier. Meanwhile, newer chemistries like sodium metal batteries are still in the lab.
Our Take
With memory prices pushing phone costs up, a bigger battery is a cheap way for brands to offer something people actually notice every day. A 12,000mAh phone in the budget range would be great news for heavy users, but charging speed and weight will decide whether it is practical. Also, OPPO has not said whether the phone will leave China, so global buyers should wait for an official launch.
